Basic Programming and Embedded Systems Laboratory

All laboratories
Basic Programming and Embedded Systems Laboratory
Equipment & tools
Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, ESP8266

The laboratory supports programming, modelling and design courses. Its computer workstations are described as more than ten PCs with dual-core Pentium Duo 3400 processors and 8 GB of memory, running tools including Visual Studio 2019, Matlab 2019 and AutoCAD 2020.

Introductory courses cover programming, algorithms and data structures, and modern programming technologies. Students work with procedural and structured programming in C/C++ and C#, algorithm design, data organisation and SOLID software-design principles. Other courses use Matlab, Mathcad and Python for computational mathematics and computer-mathematics software. Computer graphics and automation-system design introduce AutoCAD and EPLAN for preparing engineering documentation.

Programming laboratory workstations

Portable training stands with Arduino DUE controllers and Raspberry Pi 3 computers support upper-year work in modern cyber-physical systems, embedded control, real-time systems and cybersecurity for computer-integrated systems. Sensors, actuators and communication modules let students explore interfaces between devices and industrial and sensor networks, including industrial IoT.

Embedded systems training equipment

Students use the equipment for laboratory and course projects on embedded control, inter-module communication and networked automation.
