Internships and Practical Training

Practical training gives students an opportunity to apply engineering knowledge to a real or simulated technical task. Practical training is tailored to the learning outcomes of each programme:

• Bachelor’s pre-graduation practice: examining how an industrial installation or process is automated, selecting suitable equipment and relating the design to the process requirements.
• Professional master’s practice: developing knowledge of integrated production automation and the possible modernisation of control and reporting systems.
• Research master’s practice: gathering and analysing material relevant to the student’s research and master’s dissertation.
• PhD teaching practice: developing experience in preparing and delivering lectures, practical classes and seminars.

Practice requirements, dates, format and supervision are determined by the student’s current programme, study plan and applicable university regulations. The 2024 notice scheduled fourth-year bachelor’s pre-graduation practice from 15 April to 19 May 2024.

Practice settings

Past practice examples named by the department include Energoatom, Phoenix Contact, Honeywell Ukraine, Centrenergo, Antonov, Softline IT and organisations in manufacturing, energy, banking, construction and process automation.
