The automated generator diagnostic system analyses process data in real time and warns operators about developing deviations. The project description records its use as part of the process-control system for Unit 1 at Kyiv CHP-6, monitoring a TVV-320 generator.
The system combines a process-data acquisition module, a database of operating rules and a diagnostic application. It compares generator operation with nominal and permissible temperature curves, classifying conditions as normal, abnormal or hazardous. Curves for individual temperature parameters and cooling distillate are established through tests on the equipment and reference the turbine-generator’s preceding five years of operating history.
Stored data supports comparisons across different periods. The system evaluates current thermal condition, calculates the information required for each operating zone and presents it to the operator with recommendations. By following parameter trends, it can forecast operation and alert staff when a power limitation may be needed.
