Oleh Shtifzon is a Senior Lecturer teaching control theory and computer networking. He delivers lectures and laboratory classes in Computer Network Organisation. Also leads laboratory classes in Automatic Control Theory, focusing on continuous control systems.
Research interests include identification algorithms and self-tuning control systems. Co-author of the textbook Automatic Control Theory (2020), covering mathematical models, stability and feedback system analysis.
Graduated from KPI’s Faculty of Thermal Power Engineering in 1996. Headed the Networks and Telecommunications Department at the Main Information and Computing Centre of Ukraine’s Ministry of Transport, and worked as an IT Manager and Chief Technical Officer in Ukrainian and international companies.
Yulian Grudzinsky is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Automation of Energy Processes. He graduated from the Faculty of Informatics and Computer Engineering at National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” in 1988 and entered postgraduate study that year. An early engineering project involved developing a training complex for block-control-room operators at Ekibastuz State District Power Station in Kazakhstan.
His work in telecommunications included deploying LMDS and MMDS wireless broadband technologies at Ukrainian High Technologies and MMDS-Ukraine, scaling IP telephony at Sonnet Telecom, and implementing complex billing systems for mobile operator UMC at STROM telecom.
He has authored more than 40 publications. His current research interests include the industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), embedded systems and cybersecurity of technological control systems.
Ihor Polishchuk is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Automation of Energy Processes. He graduated from National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” in 2006 with a degree in automated control of technological processes.
He began his career while studying, combining his degree with work as an automation and control-systems project engineer and automation-software developer. After graduating, he joined the department and progressed from assistant to Senior Lecturer. He has more than 15 years of experience in systems integration and in designing and programming industrial and building-automation systems. For many years, he has combined university teaching with work in an international IT company. His current technical focus is software for the energy sector and high-load distributed control systems.
His research interests include energy-systems automation, digital-twin architectures, and integrating modern communications standards and Industrial IoT protocols into industrial networks. He has authored more than 40 publications, including research papers and teaching-methodological materials.
Pavlo Gikalo graduated from the Technical Lyceum of NTUU “KPI” in 1998 and went to NTUU “KPI” at the Department of Automation of Energy Processes. In 2004 he received a master’s degree in automation and computer-integrated technologies. During his studies and in parallel with his teaching work he was engaged in educational stands development. Teached disciplines are related to PLC programming. Is responsible for organizing student internships and career guidance. He has more than 10 years of experience in system administration and IT consulting of domestic and foreign companies. Hobbies: photography, videography.
Kostiantyn Nozhenko is a senior lecturer at the Department of Automation of Energy Processes and a 1967 graduate of KPI’s Faculty of Thermal Power Engineering.
He worked on the construction and operation of Kyiv CHP-6 and at Kyivenerho. From 1983, he contributed to the development of an integrated automated system for technical diagnostics of 300 MW power units and its implementation at Zuivska Power Station No. 2.
From 1989 to 1998, he worked at the Chornobyl NPP Shelter facility, maintaining and commissioning measurement equipment and systems for monitoring the facility. He received the honorary badge “Excellence in Energy of Ukraine”.
He has experience teaching technological measurements and supporting the department’s laboratory facilities. He co-authored the laboratory manual Modern Measurement Systems (Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, 2018; Ukrainian).
