Olena Nekrashevych is an Associate Professor in the Department of Automation of Energy Processes and holds a PhD. Her teaching and research connect automation, measurement systems and the exergy-based analysis of heat-pump performance.
Education and academic career
In 2005, she graduated from Kyiv Industrial College with a qualification in installation and maintenance of automation equipment and systems for industrial production, then entered Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute to study in the Department of Automation of Energy Processes. While studying, she worked with companies automating ventilation systems in offices, shopping centres and industrial facilities. In 2011, she graduated with a master’s degree with honours and joined the Kyiv Research and Design Institute “Energoproekt”. She began working in the AEP department as an assistant in 2013.
In 2024, she defended her PhD dissertation, Automated Diagnosis of Heat-Pump Unit Performance Based on Exergy-Analysis Criteria. She is responsible for international activities at the department.
Teaching
- Information and Measurement Systems (second-year course)
- Design of Automation Systems (fourth-year course)
- Engineering Calculations in Cyber-Energy Systems (fourth-year course)
Research
She has authored more than 20 research publications and one monograph. Her research interests include energy-process automation and the assessment of heat-pump systems using exergy-analysis criteria.
Outside her academic work, she enjoys cycling and teaches cyclists about road safety.
